Meraki Symposium (Student Builder Showcase)

Toronto's builder community, together. Toronto is full of builders - artists, engineers, designers, founders, tinkerers...quietly working on things they care about. Meraki exists to bring those people into the same room. To celebrate an incredible year of building, we're hosting our annual Symposium and Demo Day during Toronto Tech Week - an evening where members of the community get to formally present the projects they've been pouring themselves into. It's our favourite night of the year. You'll see small glimpses into what people are building, learning, and experimenting with right now. You can expect: Short demos from Meraki community members Casual conversations around art, tech, and creative work Food (yes, there will be food) Space to meet people and trade ideas Come curious! Come ready to talk about what you’re working on or what you want to work on. A Note on the Meraki mindset Meraki is built on the idea that creative work is better when it’s shared. When you come, you’re not just an attendee, you’re a part of the space. We ask everyone to: Be welcoming to newcomers Ask thoughtful questions Share generously, even if your work feels “unfinished” Help make the room feel warm, curious, and alive If you see someone standing alone...go say hi & make a new friend. What is Meraki UofT? Meraki UofT is a student-led builder community at the University of Toronto. (we're friends of Socratica!!) We bring together people across disciplines; engineering, art, design, business, research, and beyond! People who care about making things and learning in public. If you like building, experimenting, or exploring new ideas, Meraki is for you.
